چکیده
Abstract Interaction of forces and moments in a beam-column joint is complex most the time nonlinear. Thus, simple, global model insufficient to estimate performance behavior joint. Results from several nonlinear finite element analyses joints using VecTor2 are presented herein. Four interior two exterior models with three different types failure were studied. The analysis results terms force-drift ratio curves crack patterns then compared experimental results. In general, obtained satisfactory, but some cases program could not accurately capture strength degradation observed specimen shear failure. Moreover, captured. Nevertheless, can still peak well for all specimens this study.

Reinforced Concrete Bridge Piers Subjected to Reversed Cyclic Loading
Sixteen large-scale reinforced concrete specimens without web reinforcements were tested to study the behavior of typical bridge piers subjected to deflection reversals that were large enough to cause extensive yielding of the longitudinal reinforcement. The different parameters considered included shear spanto-depth ratio, percentage of longitudinal reinforcement, frequency of the applied load...
متن کاملFinite Element Modeling of GFRP-Reinforced Concrete Interior Slab-Column Connections Subjected to Moment Transfer
A finite element model (FEM) was constructed using specialized three-dimensional (3D) software to investigate the punching shear behavior of interior slab-column connections subjected to a moment-to-shear ratio of 0.15 m. The FEM was then verified against the experimental results of full-scale interior slab-column connections reinforced with glass fiber reinforcement polymer (GFRP) bars previou...
متن کاملOut-of-plane behaviour of reinforced concrete members with single reinforcement layer subjected to cyclic axial loading: beam-column element simulation
Earthquake loads can induce out-of-plane deformations in thin reinforced concrete (RC) walls that may lead to member out-of-plane failure or cause a premature in-plane collapse. Such instability phenomena have been observed after the recent earthquakes in Chile (2010) and New Zealand (2011). Walls with single layer of vertical reinforcement are more vulnerable to instability issues than the typ...

متن کاملFinite element analysis of a rigid beam to column connection reinforced with channels
Abstract: This research work presents a new rigid connection constructed with channels. In order to assess its hysteresis behavior, three specimens with different cover plates and six specimens with different panel zone thickness have been considered. The energy absorbed by the connection and the behavior of the panel zone were studied during cyclic loading and compared with those of connectio...
